This week at Parkview Swim (Dec 18-21)

Good evening everyone!   We have a modified schedule of events this week for practices, meets and team dinner, plus some additional information for volunteers at this week's meet.

    1.  Alternate practice schedule.   As you know, it's exam week and the school is running on a different schedule, which will impact practice times.

    Wednesday December 18. weights - 1:00pm; dryland 1:30 pm; swim 2:00-4:00
    Thursday December 19.  weights - 1:00pm; dryland 1:30 pm; swim 2:00-4:00
Friday December 20.  No weights; dryland 1:30; swim 2:00-4:00

    2. Friday, December 20.  Evening Home Meet vs. Collins Hill, Mountain Park Aquatic Center. Swimmers report to pool at 6:15pm - that's a little over two hours after practice ends, so a quick turnaround for food and packing up. You may want your athlete to have more than the usual amount of food in their bag to eat during the meet.  Warm-ups start at 6:30pm, meet starts at 7:20pm.

    3. Volunteering for the Collins Hill Meet.  A couple of items here.

    • Though not listed on the sign-up, as the home team we should have four people to help with both set-up and tear-down of the scoring equipment and timing pads.  So please, let's have some extra parents available at the beginning and end of the meet to make this go quickly.  Many hands make light work, and our meet managers are experienced and will direct us on what and how to do the work.  So no worries if you've never done this before.
    • Timers: the last two meets, we've been short timers despite having a full roster of ten signed up.  Currently, we need three more timers to sign up for the Collins Hill meet.   We'll be sending out a confirmation email to signed-up timers before the meet.  All timers should be at the meet 30 minutes before start to attend the timer meeting: volunteer sign-in will occur then.

    4.  Saturday, Dec 21, 6pm-10pm: Team Holiday Party Dinner Hosted by the Goss, Carlton & Thompson families. Hanarry Swim & Racket Club, 595 Johannah Place, Lilburn

Meal cost $5 per athlete - desserts and treats will be provided by the hosts.  Athletes should bring a wrapped gift ($5 cost limit) for the team gift exchange.

That's it for this week - GO PANTHERS, and Happy Holidays!
