Oct 30-31 schedule - new start time for Mill Creek, other news
October 26th
Hello parents! The Parkview Swim and Dive season kicks off this week with a pair of meets. Here's a recap of our schedule and other useful information for the week:
- Kickoff Dive Meet, Friday October 30, 7pm at Mountain Park Aquatic Center.
Warm-ups at 6:30. Dive only event - no swim. Our team needs to provide three volunteers for the dive meet. Sign-up on the team website by clicking on Calendar, then clicking on the green Job Sign-Up box to the right of the meet. - New start time! Dual Swim Meet vs. Mill Creek, Saturday, October 31, 5:30pm at Dynamo Swim Center, 3119 Shallowford Road, Atlanta, GA 30341
- Buses will depart Parkview High School at 4pm. Warm-ups at 5, meet starts at 5:30. We estimate the bus will return by 9:30, but text with your athlete, as we may finish early.
- Note: this is a SWIM MEET only (no dive), and we will be swimming both genders in a single session vs. the new split meet COVID protocol. However, the spectator ban is in place for the meet.
- No volunteer positions required for this meet.
- Make sure your athlete has plenty of food and drink (no concessions) and arrives wearing their swimsuit, as we will not have access to the locker rooms for changing.
- Experienced live streaming volunteers wanted! We have equipment on order and are trying to figure the set-up out in time for this week's meets. If you have experience live-streaming events, PLEASE reach out to Dan Byrne at [email protected] or 404-661-7200. We could really use the help.
- Volunteer job sign-ups for the entire season are open. Get your preferred date and time while available! Each family is required to volunteer two times this season. Our goal is to have all jobs filled by October 31. Access open jobs on the team website by clicking on Calendar, then clicking on the green Job Sign-Up box to the right of the meet. Any jobs that are open after Oct 31 will be assigned to families who have yet to volunteer.
- New Website Page: Meets & COVID. We've summarized the changes to meet protocols for this unique season, provided guidelines on getting your athlete prepped for the meet, and reviewed our volunteer responsibilities as home team for seven of nine meets this season.
- Stay close to the website and email this season for updates. We expect frequent schedule changes and updates this year as social distancing protocols evolve through the season and will do our best to share this information with you as soon as possible. Please note that the coaches will also be communicating this information to the athletes via Remind, so they may hear of changes before we do.
That's it for now! Stay RELENTLESS, Panthers!
