Schedule information for November meets
Hey parents – we’re off to an excellent start to our swim and dive season! The Kickoff Dive meet, Mill Creek swim meet at Dynamo, and Mill Creek Dive meet at West Gwinnett were total successes. We are all proud of the effort that the athletes put forth and the way our coaching staff has managed to get the team performing at a high level despite the logistics challenges. Congratulations!
This week we move to our “new normal” of dual meets with staggered schedules in Gwinnett County pools. At our parent meeting, Coach Brown suggested we be prepared for schedule changes and adjustments as we go through the season. We have a couple to share with you:
1. Saturday, November 7, 5pm – 11:30pm, Home Meet vs. Grayson. Mountain Park Aquatic Center, 1063 Rockbridge Rd, Stone Mountain. The meet schedule has changed, as Grayson requested that the girls swim first:
- Dive Meet: 5-6pm
- Girls Swim Warm-up: 6:30 - 6:50pm
- Girls Swim Meet: 7:00 - 8:45pm
- Boys Swim Warm-up: 8:45 - 9:05pm
- Boys Swim Meet: 9:15 - 11:15pm
Hytek and console volunteers, that means your shift times have swapped: Girls meet shift will run from 6:30 – 8:45, and Boys meet shift will run from 9:00 – 11:15.
You can livestream the Grayson meet here https://youtu.be/AmnvZ-ChV44
Gwinnett County pools do not have WiFi and won’t let us connect to their local area network. From now on, we’ll be using cellular data hotspots for livestreaming – expect lower quality video with more glitches than last week, but it's better than nothing.
2. November 14, 5pm-11:30pm, Home Meet vs. Dacula. Collins Hill Aquatic Center, 2200 Collins Hill Rd, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.For most of us, this will be our first meet at the Collins Hill pool. As the Home team, we’ll be supplying the volunteers, and have seven open spots - Dive Meet Scoring Verifier (2); Meet Set-up (1), Boys Meet Console Operator; Boys Meet Hytek Computer Operator; Meet Tear Down (2). Families who have yet to volunteer - please sign up now.
November 21 meet vs. Central Gwinnett. Central has a very small team, so the boys and girls will swim the meet together in a single session. We will still have the dive meet from 5pm - 6pm, with swim to follow. Volunteers: we will only need one shift for Console and Hytek operators, and Post-Meet Tear Down will occur from 9pm – 10pm, earlier than usual.
That's it for now. GO PANTHERS! #relentless
