This Week at Parkview Swim & Dive, October 20-24

Hi everyone! First week of practice is underway. I have just returned from the pool and the team looks FAST. Very exciting to see how we fare in our first meet.

There are a few critical things that we need your help and participation. I should’ve called the note “This Saturday at Parkview Swim & Dive”, because it’s all happening October 23!

Family Picnic, Saturday, October 23, 12:30pm at the LDS Church, 1150 Cole Drive, Lilburn. Join us at the Outdoor Pavilion for covered dish food and fun. Families will also be making their concessions donations - here's what each class needs to bring:

      • Freshmen: bring drinks for the picnic, bring a 24-pack of water for concession donations
      • Sophomores: bring a side dish for the picnic, bring a 12-pack cans of Coke, Diet Coke, or Coke Zero for concession donations
      • Juniors: bring a side dish for the picnic, bring a 12-pack cans of Sprite for concession donations
      • Seniors: bring desserts for the picnic, bring an 8-pack of Gatorade, Powerade for concession donations

Athlete Color Wars, immediately following picnic, Mountain Park Park. Athletes & coaches only.

Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser starts 8pm, Saturday October 23. As of right now, only 21 of 75 athletes have their stores set up. Each athlete needs to get their pop-up store set up by Friday night. It's very easy, and "how to" flyers were distributed today at swim practice. Please help your kiddos out with these three set-up steps:

1.Download the Double Good app from the Apple or Google app store

    2.Enter our fundraising code: HDHYZM

3.Customize your site with pictures and a video: set a goal of $500 to fund county pool use fees and other expenses to support our chase for a championship!

Families can opt out of the popcorn sale for a $150 per athlete donation. Please contact Patti Martinez at [email protected].

Dive Training Meeting, October 23, 1pm at Parkview High School Room 7.112For new divers and their families.

Swim Volunteer Training, West Gwinnett Aquatic Center, 4488 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Norcross, October 23. 9am-noon: meet setup/tear down, console training.1-4pm, Classroom training for Hytek Computer.

Also, PLEASE click here to sign-up for meet volunteer positions. Sign-up is available on the team website for all regular season meets – please limit four per parent so we can have broad participation.  Kelly Littrell, our Volunteer Coordinator, will be reaching out with separate emails about volunteer opportunities.

Phew…that’s a lot.  We will definitely be displaying some GRIT as we rush toward the Meet of Champions on October 30.  Thanks in advance for all the hard work and support – GO PANTHERS!!!
