Wow it was fun to hear the drum line and watch the kiddos in the water vs. Brookwood last week. Swimmers and divers on both sides really excelled. The team spirit and large crowd was excellent! Now the last meet of the regular season is here and we then quickly pivot to county/state prep. Here's the news you can use:

• Thursday, January 13, 7pm. Team Dinner hosted by the Wooldridges at their home, 52 Planters Drive, SW, Lilburn. Athletes bring $5 for the cost of the meal and boys bring the dessert!

• Friday, January 14, 7:20pm. Home Tri-Meet vs. Lanier/North Springs, Mountain Park Aquatic Center. Athletes should arrive at 6:10, warm-ups will start at 6:30. We are still looking for SIX volunteers for the meet - a backup timer & five lane timers. Please let me ([email protected]) or Kelly Littrell ([email protected]) know if you are able to volunteer.

• Important info: Susan Moody, head of the organization that runs high school swim/dive in Gwinnett, has been in frequent contact with Gwinnett Parks & Rec regarding COVID. Parks & Rec is sending representatives to all the meets this weekend to assess compliance with mask mandates & whether they need to change meet structure and attendance. If we want to finish the season and have spectators at the county meet, it's extremely important that we are following the existing mask mandate guidelines for anyone that's in the aquatic center on Friday night. • Monday, January 17, time TBD. County Team Dinner, LDS Church, 1150 Cole Drive, SW Lilburn. Dinner, sign making, and the traditional boys head shaving for County Qualifiers are all on the agenda.
