    Volunteer Trainings
Parent volunteers are an essential part of high school swim meets (which is why each family is required to complete 4 volunteer shifts), and while many meet roles don’t require any training – some do. Trainings for volunteers who will do meet setup, computers or console are happening the next two Saturdays. We need several parents from our team trained in these areas – roles that often give you one of the best views of the meet and a greater understanding of the sport.
Details are on our team calendar, but you can also learn more about the trainings here: https://gwinnettswimdive.org/training-information

Parent Tailgate: Saturday, October 26 at 5:30 p.m.
Join fellow Parkview Swim & Dive parents (siblings of athletes are welcomed too) before our first meet for a tailgate! The tailgate will be held in the lower parking lot of the Mountain Park Aquatic Center. Sandwiches & water will be provided – plus, tailgate games & a spiritwear raffle! Bring your own chairs and beverages (no alcohol please). And, in our team meal tradition, parents of male athletes bring a sweet treat to share, and parents of female athletes bring a salty snack to share. This will be a great opportunity for new parents to get to know veteran parents (and ask questions!). Please make plans to join!
A big thank you to our team’s social chairs Adrianne Leonard & Ginger Mercer for volunteering their time to organize this event.

Team Meal: Friday, October 25 at 6 p.m.
Hosted by families in the Haralson Hills neighborhood, the first team meal will be held prior to the Parkview home football game on October 25. All athletes are invited (and encouraged!) to come. This meal will be held up the street from Parkview at the outdoor pavilion behind the LDS Church on Cole Road. The volleyball court and gym will be available for games and fun. Male athletes please bring a dessert to share.
Menu: Baked ziti, meatballs, salad, bread & drinks

    Team Meals: Hosts needed!
We need hosts for our other team meals this season! See the dates below and reply to this email letting us know if you are able to host. We’d like to get all the meals lined up in the next two weeks! If you really want to host but don’t see a date that works for you, please reach out and let us know.

Meals are one of the highlights of the season for athletes. Approximately 50 teenagers usually attend each meal. If it feels like a lot to host on your own or at your home (we get it!), find friends or neighbors and host together. Neighborhood clubhouses and churches are a great place to host this team! Or a park pavilion for lunch. Families are asked to provide a main course and drinks. Athletes bring dessert. The Swim & Dive Board can reimburse families for up to $200 for food.
