Parkview Swim & Dive: November 19

    Hello Panthers!

Congrats to the team for a great showing on Saturday morning! The team won with a large margin. The full results can be found on our website.

The Clody Invitational is on Saturday, December 7. We are working on entries this week and want ALL swimmers to respond on this form by Wednesday. You can choose your events! Divers, I will confirm your entry with Coach Sydney.

    Athletes of the Week
Congrats to freshman swimmer, Hayden Tran, our male athlete of the week. He previously qualified for state in the 100 butterfly and added the 200 IM on Saturday morning. He is working hard and adds quite a bit of drive to our boys' team.

Congrats to junior swimmer, Natalia Gonzalez Arauzo, our female athlete of the week. She has now qualified for state in the 200 free, 200 IM, and 500 free. Watch for her to qualify for more events in the near future. Natalia is an exchange student from Spain and has added a tremendous work ethic to our practices.

    Thanksgiving Week Practice Schedule
There’s no meet this weekend, but there is practice during break at the aquatic center. Swimmers will practice 2:00-4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Saturday, November 30, practice will be Noon-2 p.m.

    FOR PARENTS

    Clody Meet: Timers Needed
We need 3 more timers for the Clody Meet on December 7. Although it’s still a few weeks away, the organizers ask teams to submit their volunteer slots early. This is a bigger meet with a lot more to coordinate, so we appreciate parents signing up for these slots today!

Clody Invitational Meet: December 7 at 9 a.m.
This meet is named after Bill Clody, a longtime supporter of swim and dive in Gwinnett County. This meet is a non-scored invitational that focuses on individual times rather than team scores. The meet is purposely scheduled to be the same weekend as the year-round swimmers' senior state meet, giving non-year-round swimmers an opportunity to shine. There will be quite a few teams at the invitational meet, so expect a crowded pool deck and seating area. The meet will also be a bit longer than a typical dual meet. An estimated finish time is about 1 p.m. for the swimming events. Also, while we are fortunate to not have to pay entry fees for regular season meets, this invitational does require spectators to purchase tickets. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased online through the GoFan app.

    See you at the pool!
