Parkview Swim & Dive: January 7
Happy New Year Panthers!
Exciting weekend ahead! I’m sure everyone will be keeping an eye on the weather. Coaches will let everyone know as soon as they know if there’s a change to school activities on Friday or Saturday.
This week’s meet is against Parkview rival Brookwood AND it’s Senior Night! Details for parents, athletes and fans are below. Wear your Parkview spirit wear on Saturday and plan to loudly cheer on the Panthers!
FOR ATHLETES
Canceled: Friday’s Team Meal
Due to the ever-changing and possibly winter weather forecast for Friday, the team meal has been canceled. A big thank you to the Snyder, Martinez and Bombard families for coordinating food and being willing to host the team. (We’ll put you all on the top of the team meal list for next season!)
Senior Brunch: RSVP on the Evite
Senior athletes are invited to attend the Senior Brunch this Saturday, December 11 at 10:30 a.m. Please RSVP on the Evite. Please wear a shirt from the college you plan to attend or college of your choice. A big thank you to the Atkins family for hosting this meal and time of celebration for the seniors.
Senior Display at the Meet
Traditionally the lobby of the Mountain Park Aquatic Center has been set up with pictures and posters celebrating seniors from both teams. This year, Parkview’s section of the lobby will be immediately when you enter on the right side. Photos of Parkview’s seniors will be on display. If athletes would like to bring their own “memory board,” they are welcomed to do so as well. Boards should be no larger than 22"x28” and can be dropped off with volunteers when you arrive at the meet.
FOR PARENTS
Volunteers Needed
This week’s meet is Senior Night, and our team’s (volunteer) Social Chairs have been working hard planning this celebration. They need a few additional parents to help out on Saturday – a few before the meet to set up and a few during the meet. If you are able to help out with the celebration, please email Adrianne Leonard.
Senior Parents: Photo Opportunities
There are a few opportunities for seniors and their families to have pictures taken at the meet on Saturday. Our team photographer and Parkview senior Austen Bennett will be at the meet 30 minutes prior to warmup for any families that would like a photo then. Please meet her in the lobby.
The Senior Presentation will happen at the conclusion of the dive segment of the meet. Coaches will invite parents to come down to the pool deck and walk with their seniors as their names are announced. The team’s photographer will also be taking pictures during this presentation.
“We Love Our Senior” signs will be available for families to use for photo ops and cheering on Parkview during the meet. Please see a volunteer at the display table when you arrive to pick up a sign (and return them there after the meet).
A big thank you to Social Chairs Adrianne Leonard (William) and Ginger Mercer (Logan) for coordinating this great event for our athletes!
State Meet Volunteers
There are no volunteer requirements for the state meet, but if you are interested in a front row view of the action (and free admission to the event), the meet coordinators have started to sign up volunteers.
