    Fundraising

We will run a team fundraiser October 19th through October 22rd!

Each participating Parkview swimmer is expected to participate in the fundraiser OR opt out with a donation of $125 OR secure a sponsorship from a local business.

The fundraiser is selling Double Good popcorn. The swimmer will set-up and manage their own virtual pop-up store. They can post on social media and send the link to friends and family. All logistics are handled by the Double Good company, and products are shipped directly to buyers. Again, for those wishing to ‘opt out’ of the online fundraiser, you will have the option to do so as part of registration by adding $125 to your registration fee OR securing a sponsorship from a business/(es) of at least $250. Swimmers who sell more than $500 of popcorn will receive a $50 Visa gift card. Sponsorships must be secured by 10/2.

Our team goal is to raise $8,000! 50% of each swimmer’s proceeds goes to the team and its expenses.

    Consider company matching!

Tap into FREE MONEY for our team!

Do you work for a Fortune 500 company or a local business? Please check your benefits package or with your HR Department; many employers offer corporate MATCHING (FREE MONEY) for non-profits like our Parkview Swim & Dive team.

Matching is easy and can MATCH 1:1 or 1:2 (DOUBLE) for all donations. Turn your $125 donation into $250 for the team.

Other companies donate for volunteer hours, like timing, setting up for swim meets, or even hosting team dinners. We are already registered with Benevity who works with many organizations.

    Social & special events

    Team Picnic and Color Wars:

To kick off each season, we have our Family Picnic and Color Wars. The meal is a potluck with the main course provided by the team for athletes and families. Our Swim and Dive Captains will organize Color Wars for the athletes at the park. COLOR WARS and the FAMILY PICNIC are Sunday, September 27th!

    Team Dinners

Family-hosted team dinners or lunches take place before each of our meets (usually a Thursday, Friday or Saturday). If you are interested in hosting, here are a few things to know:

    • dinners can be a simple dish made at home or catered
    • the Board will be providing a set amount to the host family to off-set the cost of the main dish
    • plan for about 45-50 kids
    • families can pair up and host together
    • swimmers will be asked to bring a small sweet/dessert (we’ll rotate girls and boys at each meal)
    • the last team dinner in December will also be our holiday party and will include photos with Santa!

Look out for an e-mail and a signup link on Swimtopia. Senior families will have first pick of dates to host and then it will open to all families. Contact our Social Chairs, Christy Quinn and Holly Wethington Mercer with any questions or if you are interested in hosting!

Future Panther Meet: Friday, December 19th

December 19th (vs Collins Hill and Discovery) we will have our “Future Panther Meet.” All middle and older elementary and schoolers and siblings that are interested in swimming or diving at the high school level at Parkview are invited. These younger Panthers get to sit on deck together, meet the athletes and cheer on our team! An invitation will be created so swimmers and parents can share via e-mail and social media.

    Senior Recognition: Saturday, January 9th

Our seniors are traditionally recognized during the “Battle of Five Forks” meet against Brookwood. We will ask for a few extra volunteers to help set up the senior poster table and coordinate the recognition of our seniors during the meet, including pictures and a backdrop. A senior brunch will be hosted before the meet at a senior’s home.

    Team Banquet

Our team banquet will be scheduled on a weeknight at the end of February or early March. This involves team gifts, catering, decorations, and awards. It will take place in the Parkview Cafeteria and families are welcome. Please plan to attend, as it is a special night for the athletes.

If you can assist with any of these events or have ideas to make them great, we need you!! Please contact our Social Event Chairs, Christy Quinn (770.307.8408) and Holly Wethington Mercer (770.568.9832)
