• Registration closes Oct 2nd. Please register early!
• Sports physicals are valid for 12 months.

PRACTICE

• Dryland Practice going on NOW!  Weekdays 2:30 - 3:30 PM in the New Gym Weight Room
• Pool Practice starts Monday, October 5th - weekdays 2:30 - 4:30 - 4:45 PM at Mountain Park Aquatic Center
• First week of practice serves as tryouts
• Time Trials will be October 8th
• Team Roster will be announced after time trials

COLOR WARS - Sunday Sept 27th

• Athletes meet up at Mountain Park Park in the upper field near the skate park from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
• Coach Brown will send out the team color lists this week. 
• Dress in your team’s colors from head to toe for games and fun!
• See photos attached from last year.

FAMILY PICNIC - Sunday Sept 27th

• All Athletes and Families are invited for a Family Picnic from 3:00 - 5:00 PM following the Color Wars
• Location: Pavilion behind The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1150 Cole Dr SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
• Main course will be provided.
• Families please bring sides to share.
• Please see attached flyer with QR code to sign up for sides.

Each family will need to sign up for 4 volunteer shifts. 

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED for these positions;

• Timers
• Runners
• Concessions
• Ribbons
• Heat Sheets/ Admissions

TRAINING REQUIRED for these positions - Sign up for Training!

• Meet Setup/Cleanup*
• Scoring Computer Operator or Verifier*
• Timing Console Operator*
• Dive Scoring, Verifying and Announcing

*Our team has a specific need for trained Console and Scoring Operators as well as Set-up/Breakdown Leads! PLEASE consider getting trained, especially if you have a younger swimmer. These roles guarantee you the best view on deck!

Team Dinners

• Please see attached flyer with QR code to sign up to host Team Dinners during the season.
• The team loves to get together outside of the pool!
• Please consider hosting one of these fun events!

Fundraising & Sponsorships

• The team will participate in a Double Good Popcorn fundraiser Oct 19-22
• Each participating Parkview swimmer is expected to:
  • Sell $250 in popcorn
  • OR Opt out with a donation of $125
  • OR Secure a $250 sponsorship from a local business.
• The swimmer will set-up and manage their own virtual pop-up store. They can post on social media and send the link to friends and family.
• All logistics are handled by the Double Good company, and products are shipped directly to buyers.
• Those wishing to ‘opt out’ of the online fundraiser, you will have the option to do so as part of registration by adding $125 to your registration fee OR securing a sponsorship from a business/(es) of at least $250.
• Swimmers who sell more than $500 of popcorn will receive a $50 Visa gift card.
• Sponsorships must be secured by Oct 2nd.
• Please see sponsorship form attached.
• Our team goal is to raise $8,000!
• 50% of each swimmer’s popcorn proceeds goes to the team and its expenses.

• Please check your benefits package or with your HR Department; many employers offer corporate MATCHING (FREE MONEY) for non-profits like our Parkview Swim & Dive team.
• Matching is easy and can MATCH 1:1 or 1:2 (DOUBLE) for all donations. Turn your $125 donation into $250 for the team.
• Other companies donate for volunteer hours, like timing, setting up for swim meets, or even hosting team dinners.
• We are already registered with Benevity who works with many organizations.

NG3 - Starts Thursday October 1st

• NG3 = Next Generation: Character Community Change
• Do what you say. Serve others. Bring change.
• Our first TEAM TALK THURSDAY in Coach Brown’s room is Thursday October 1st before school at 6:45 AM. We meet Thursday mornings during the swim season.
• Of course, there will be DONUTS!

• All Athletes are invited!
• Topics include: Teamwork, Courage, Integrity, Excellence, Honesty, Trust, Relentlessness, Responsibility, and more!
• After Fall Break, starting October 19th, NG3 Core Group Mondays 6:30 - 8:00 PM will meet at the Hardy’s House at 1379 Megan Danielle in Evergreen Lakes.
• We will start with icebreaker activities and a light dinner, then will break into girls and boys small groups for more in-depth discussions about faith, life, school, sports, and more.

Adult leaders are Will & Michlle Hardy and Katie Robinson.

The focus of NG3 is to develop character in high school students and provide opportunities for spiritual growth. Our commitment is to build relationships, invest time in the lives of these young people, and lead them to serve their communities in a positive way. Our staff work alongside coaches, teachers, and administrators to teach, mentor and guide students into becoming well-rounded men and women of character.

Whew! That was a LOT of info for our first week! We will keep everyone updated as the season kicks off. We look forward to seeing the athletes at Color Wars and all the families at the Family Picnic on Sunday, Sept 27th!
